Describe A Time When Someone Asked for Your Opinion IELTSCUECARDS-VINODSHARMAIELTS

Describe a time when someone asked for your opinion

Introduction.

Surveys are conducted on a daily basis to find out the real opinion of what people think. I believe it's the best way to collaborate with the masses and get vital insights. Multinational companies and political parties regularly conduct surveys to figure out their position in the market. Schools and Universities also conduct surveys to take the opinions of their students.

Main Answer.

Here I am going to talk about a survey I participated in and give my opinion.

Who asked for your opinion

A leading political party was conducting a survey and asking people to give their opinion on various issues regarding the upcoming elections. This survey was about local demographics. A private agency was conducting this survey for a political party. In this survey they wanted to know what opinion people have and difficulties they face. They wanted to come up with solutions so they gave multiple options in suggestions so people can really identify their issue and give their opinion.

Why he/she wanted to know your opinion

A volunteer came to my house and asked me to fill up a form regarding some issues in my state. I just had to give answers in yes and no. They wanted to know the situation on ground zero so they were taking opinions from each area by visiting people door to door.

What opinion you gave

I was very crystal clear about my opinions about the current political party and their merits and demerits. I figured out the positive and negative aspects of the local authorities and suggested some viable solutions which people wanted in my area. I also gave my opinion regarding what changes should be made to make living better in my area. I suggested some strict steps against corruption and rude behaviour so some officers in public offices. I participated just because I was interested and I wanted my voice to reach the authorities. I also encouraged my family members and friends to participate in this survey so we can express our demands and get better services from the government.

And explain how you felt when he/she asked for your opinion.

I felt good that somebody was willing to listen and ready to solve the problems people were facing. I believe whenever we are doing something together in big numbers we should take a survey and know others' opinions and suggestions.

Model Answer 2

Introduction.

I am a very opinionated person and my views are very clear. I do not like to sit on the fence and stay safe. When I believe in something I definitely support it with all my heart. There are some introverted people who hesitate to express their ideas and opinions but the people who communicate tend to be more successful in their life.

Main Answer.

Here I am going to talk about when my friend asked my opinion.

Who asked for your opinion

My friend Joe and I are very close and we make decisions by taking each other's opinions. Sometimes I have disagreed with him but my opinion definitely matters to him.

Why he/she wanted to know your opinion

He wanted to buy a new car and I am kind of a car guy who knows a lot about these crazy machines. So he came to me for my opinion. We sat together and had a brief discussion about his preference in cars and discussed the budget and finance part. He was also confused between a Sedan or SUV so I cleared all his doubts.

What opinion you gave

I synthesized some sources and made my decision that he should go with a midsize SUV like Tata Nexon jet addition which comes with all premium features and fits into his budget. This car also has excellent safety ratings and is totally convenient for the driving experience. I also gave him the option to buy an electric car but he was worried about the range so the traditional fuel car was best.

And explain how you felt when he/she asked for your opinion

I felt honoured when he asked my opinion and he discussed every single detail with me before making this decision. That made me happy. He also bought the same variant that I suggested so I felt so happy.
