Introduction.

Learning some essential skills are so important in life like driving, cooking,and language skills. Today we can learn skills from many different sources like the internet,books,and audio visual methods. But learning from our grandparents or older ones is so special. They have so much in-depth experience and excellent interpersonal skills.

Here I am going to talk about language skills I learned from my grandfather.

- What the skill is

I have learned English as my first language and I am good with it. But here I learned Gujarati from my grandfather and he taught me the most difficult language in an easy way.

- Who you learned it from

I have learned this language from my grandfather. He is a first language user of Gujarati and he has in-depth knowledge of the language. He knows the grammar and pronunciation of each and every word so clearly. 

- How you learned it.

I started with the basics like words,small sentences and rhymes. First I learned proper vocabulary of the language, then I tried to make small sentences. He provided me with books to read from elementary school so that was a good reference to learn this language.

- And how you feel about it.

I feel good that I can speak,read and write my mother tongue today. It is compulsory for everyone to learn their vernacular language to preserve their culture and tradition.

1. What can children learn from their parents?

Parents are the first teachers of Children and children can learn many things from parents like respecting others, basic skills like cooking and cleaning, academic skills,and business skills. Children spend a huge amount of time with their parents so it's the best way to learn some skills from them.

2. What knowledge can children learn from their grandparents?

Grandparents are very experienced with life and have abundant sources of information from the past, so children can learn almost everything related to life. They can teach them all the things in the best way. Like academic lessons,life lessons and traditional skills.

3. What kind of help do you think older people need? 

1) Help with chores like laundry, grocery shopping, house cleaning, etc.

2) Having caring family around so they don’t feel lonely is also helpful

3) Help with learning new technologies like smartphones

4) Older people need good nutrition and healthy meals to stay fit

5) Regular doctor visits and tests to make sure everything is ok with their health

6) Help with transportation if they can’t drive themselves

4. What skills can young people learn from older people?

Older people are good with traditional skills of cooking and agriculture knowledge so the young generation can learn from them about plants, and agriculture. They can learn how to survive without electricity and modern gadgets. Even old people can teach young excellent handicrafts skills which are so important to save our culture and traditions.
