Main Answer

Here I am going to talk about a book I read that is called Immortals of meluha. It's a fiction book written by Amish Tripathi, a famous Indian writer.

- When you read it

I read this book during my college vacation. This book is a work of fiction and it holds the attention of the reader. It is very well written that gives a deep inside to lord Shiva's life. One who is interested in Indian spiritual mythology definitely gets interested in it. All the characters are well described in detail. This book is the first book from a series of Shiva Trilogy.

- What kind of book it is - What is about

The story begins with a tribal boy with disabilities and how he recovers using holy waters from different rivers of India. Moreover, the story continued with Shiva and his wife Sati and their early life. The mythological elements and fiction are a good combination. Along with knowledge one can also improve reading skills by reading such books. It's written in English and translated in many regional languages of India.

- And explain why you think it is exciting.

This book is so exciting because of the story of Shiva. Everyone in India worships Shiva and has deep faith in him so I found this book so exciting.

Follow-ups

Do you prefer books or movies?

Today I prefer to watch a movie as I don't have that much time to read. And a movie is interesting just because of its audio and visual way of storytelling. The professional actors make the story look real. All these things we have to imagine in a book which is tough sometimes.

Do you think it is important to read the book before watching the movie version of it?

No, if you read the book and then go for a movie you will not like the movie. As in the book everything is written so minutely that a movie can not cover. Movie is superficial and the book covers minute details of a story. So it's not important to read the book first, you can watch the movie and get the thrust of the story.

Do boys and girls like the same kinds of books?

Yes absolutely there is nothing like gender differences everyone likes everything so both the genders enjoy the same things.

What kind of books do Indian people like to read?

Indian people are so religious and spt so they like religious, spiritual, fiction and historical books. They are more connected culturally so they read this kind of book. Books related to god's, and their lives are so popular in India. Autobiography of popular leaders is also well read in Indian masses.
