Describe a resolution you made in the new year IELTS CUE CARDS VINODSHARMAIELTS

Introduction

Taking a resolution is the beginning of making our self perfect and becoming aware of bad habits. People make new year resolutions every year and very little succeed in this task. New year resolutions are like exercise daily, eat food on time wake up early, stop an addition, meet with friends regularly, read a book and many other.

Main Answer.

Here, I am going to talk about a New year resolution I made.

- What is the resolution?

I am a foodie and I can not stop myself from trying new cuisine and dishes. This habit of mine has a direct effect on my regular life. I had become an addict of fast food. Now at the end of year I have decided not to touch any fast food anywhere. And eat only healthy and hygienic food.

- How will you complete it?

First of all I will change my whole lifestyle and adopt a new active lifestyle. I will consult an expert dietitian and make a food regime. I will stop wandering in the street market stalls and the High Street of my hometown. Secondly, I will also start exercising to keep myself fit physically. This sedentary lifestyle and poor diet had a bad effect on my health which I want to drop this year.

- How do you feel about it?

I have realised the deteriorating health and symptoms and effects were clearly seen on my body. Now I want to gain my physical fitness and confidence again so I have taken this resolution. My parents and siblings are really in support of my decision which gives me moral support.

- Why did you make this resolution?

I have made this resolution to become fit and realising bad food forced me to take this resolution.

MODEL ANSWER 2

Introduction.

New year resolutions are made every year many keep and others just make. They don't mind it. People make resolutions to improve themselves and remove their bad habits and become a better person. Others believe it's a good time to quit or start a new activity so people make resolutions every year. I have made many resolution in my life and I do everything to keep my promise to myself.

Main Answer.

Here I am going to talk about a resolution I made this year. It's all about reducing my screen time.

- What is the resolution?

I play a lot of video games and surf the internet all day. As part of my job I have to stay online which is creating a negative effect on my life. I have started staying online whenever I am free which is not good for my eyes. So I have decided to limit my digital presence in social media platforms

- How will you complete it?

I will limit this activity gradually as u have realised it's harmful effects on mental and physical body. I will start reading new books and play outdoor games. This will improve my physical fitness and make me feel alive again. I am also planning to join a sports club near my home so I can play outdoor games every day.

- How do you feel about it?

I feel extremely positive about this activity and I am hopeful for my resolution for the coming new year. I have decided to improve myself and I am assured I will do it. When I make a promise to myself then I definitely complete it. Otherwise I never make a resolution.

- Why did you make this resolution?

My parents noticed my behavior and the complaints I had regarding my health made me aware about my lifestyle. And then I decided to improve so first I figured out the key reasons behind my stress and then made a resolution to quit my bad habits.

Part 3 follow up questions.

Do you think the younger generation is eating more fast food?

Yes absolutely, I think the food habits have changed and the youth is running behind taste and they don't care about what ingredients go inside the making of these food items. Even Today people are not aware about basic cooking skills. They just order food from online portals and keep on eating which is very bad in the long term.

What are the benefits of taking New year resolutions?

I think there is a direct benefit that one becomes aware of his/her bad habit and once they realise something wrong they are doing they will try to stop it and reduce the activity. Many people make resolutions and they keep them. They become mentally strong by taking hard decisions and following them.

What kind of resolution do children make?

Children also make new year resolutions like waking up early and doing exercise daily. These habits can really help them academically sound and build good physical strength. Waking up early will give them time to study and exercise builds their physical strength.

Do people fail in new year resolutions?

Yes, most of the people fail. A tiny amount of people keep their words and take actions. Otherwise the next morning, the majority of them forget what resolutions they made last night, so the last day of the year is full of good promises and the first day of new year is like breaking them all…..
