Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages?

Latest IELTS essay April 1  2023,

Introduction.

Fossil fuels are scarce and increasing use of gas and oil is making its search worldwide. Finding new sources is the need of the hour to meet the demand. However, in the long run dependency on oil and gas will have more disadvantages in the form of contamination and Catastrophes.

On the one hand, many developed nations are drilling oil and gas all over the world leaving no stone unturned to find fossil fuels and exploring remote places has more probability to meet the demand created all over the world. Many countries supply oil and gas to countries where the demand is high and this also creates dependence on them. Secondly, Exploring remote places will be helpful and the shortage of gas and oil will be fulfilled. Supply chain will be normal all over the world.

On the other hand, there are darker sides of doing this. The atmosphere is contaminated by use of oil and gas resulting in weather changes and natural calamities all over the world. Exploring at remote places will cost tremendous money and the problem of pollution will be untouched. Finding alternative sources of energy will be a good initiative to take. Producing clean energy by nuclear power and generating more green energy will make this world a better place to live. Energy produced from wind, sun, water, and nuclear will have no negative effect on flora and fauna.

To sum up, Increasing demand for energy is an unavoidable issue and the existing infrastructure of energy production needs a major change to solve the overall problem the world is facing.
